Two Drug Smugglers Sentenced to Ten Years in Federal Court

AMARILLO -- Hugo Beltran-Ruiz and Elider Garcia-Urgell were sentenced to ten years in Federal prison and five years probation for two counts of Possession With Intent to Distribute 500 Grams or More of Methamphetamine and Aiding and Abetting.
Troopers searched his car and found 10-pounds of meth inside. Troopers say Beltran-Ruiz told them he was transporting the drugs from California to Oklahoma.
Garcia-Urgell was arrested on October 25 of last year. According to court documents, Elider-Garcia was taking the drugs from Los Angeles to Fort Smith, Arkansas.
