Amarillo-- River Road Teacher Picks up Weekly Award.
Suzy Huguley is a special education teacher at River Road High School. Her fellow teachers call her "one of those rare teachers who inspire with deeds and humor."
King Hill, River Road's Drama Teacher, sent in the nomination. "She is a dynamo and non-stop giver who teaches full-time, co-teaches a English class, makes costumes and props for the One-Act play, chauffeurs actors and students to and from rehearsals, assists in directing the competition play, teaches a full course load with no conference period off to her Special Ed students and still manages to be a great mother, wife and inspiring co-worker."
Suzy was taken back when we gave her the award today, "I love the people here, I love the people I work with and I love the students. It's a challenge because I try to get my students ready for a career and life as an adult."
We're always looking for nominations. All we need to know is the teacher's name, where they teach and what makes them so special.
You can do that here on the website.
We honor our teacher of the week every Monday.
