Keinan opened the Buffs' scoring when he headed the ball off a served corner kick by Jacob Fynboe Jensen in the 9th minute. Everson scored next when senior Kenneth Christensen sent a long ball to the top of ENMU's box from the Buffs' defensive end. Everson one-touched a lofted shot over both the Greyhounds' lone defender and goalkeeper Leif Craddock to put the Buffs up 2-0.

Eastern New Mexico tallied their goal on a penalty kick that they earned when goalkeeper Chris Chiakpo came out and fouled the Greyhound attacker on a break away in the 88th minute.
