Schupp Named LSC South Hitter Of The Week

CANYON, Texas – After hitting five home runs and
collecting 10 RBI in the Buffs’ opening weekend, senior infielder Brian Schupp
has been named Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week. The Prosper, Texas,
native’s offensive power helped the Buffs come out of the three-game series
against Sul Ross State with a record of 1-2, including a 13-4 rout of the Lobos
in the second game of Saturday’s double header.
Schupp hit 2-for-4 with no walks and no strikeouts in
Friday’s 8-6 loss, as both of his hits were solo home runs. In Saturday’s 3-2
loss, Schupp was 1-for-4 with one RBI but he exploded for three home runs in the
13-4 win in the second game, during which he hit 6-for-6 with five runs, seven
RBI, no walks and no strikeouts in the victory.
