Gorillas Lose Final Home Game

TX 3/21/08 – The Amarillo Gorillas had a disappointing
end to their 2007-08 home season, getting beat by the final score of 6-1 in
front of their home crowd on Friday night against the New Mexico Scorpions. It

The first period saw the
Gorillas take an early 1-0 lead as David Nimmo scored his team leading
41st goal of the year at 4:51, getting help from Austin Sutter and
Bill Vandermeer. Nimmo was recognized before the game for his Rookie of the
Year award, as the league presented him with a trophy and the Gorillas unveiled
a banner that will hang in the rafters as a permanent reminder of his
accomplishments.
In period two, the
Scorpions would get the only goal scoring at 7:26 when Christopher Robertson
converted on the power-play to put
The third period was all
Scorpions, as they would add four more goals, including two more from Reeder to
give him a hat trick on the night, and 40 goals on the season. Ross McCain
would score the other two third period goals, as the Scorpions got just their
second win over
