Sarah Schwertner was nominated by Teena Taylor, a parent of one of Mrs. Schwertner's students. Teena had this to say, "Despite hardships of her own this year, she has been very focused on the kids and always keeps them motivated." Here's more from the nomination letter, "This year, my son has learned that school and reading can be fun."
Andy Justus stopped by on Monday and surprised Mrs. Schwertner with the award. After getting a round of applause from her students, Mrs. Schwertner smiled and said, "This is the world. This makes me feel like everything I've done this year has been worth it. It's nice to be recognized and have the opportunity to have a parent let you know what you have been doing has helped them and their child."
If you have a teacher you want to nominate just head over to the nomination form on this web site.
