Here is the Q & A we had with Amy, Phil's wife!

    Q. Amy, first off, you looked amazing on the finale. And you were sent home fairly early in the competition, so you did a lot of this on your own. So how did you manage to lose so much weight without the trainers and strict diets.

    A. When I got voted off the ranch my sister in law said something very valuable to me. She told me to act like I was still on the ranch and live accordingly. I got into a great gym and found the most awesonme trainer, DJ Jordan, who I refer to as my "mini Bob". Mentally I never unhooked from competition mode until the finale was over.

    Q. Also, how hard is it to transition from the strenuous diet and exercise plan at the ranch, to being back at home in the "real world?"

    A. The transition was hard, not because of food or exercise, but because of the outside pressure of work, bills, money, and raising children. I was able to keep up the diet and exercize with a little juggling. The scheduling was the harder part.

    Q. I know from experience it can be hard when you make dinner to think about keeping it healthy and still being able to make everyone in the family happy. How did/do you and Phil manage to feed yourselves and your kids and still stay on a good meal plan?

    A. We don't keep anything tempting or unhealthy in our house. THe "worst" snack we have is blue corn tortilla chips and hummus or salsa. My kids don't have a choice but to adapt or starve. We have to be strict that way...this is a life or death matter.

    Q. When I've been on a strict diet in the past, there have been foods that I loved that I had to stay away from. Is there a certain food you have cut out of your diet entirely? Or is there something you miss eating?

    A. I miss eating chocolate anything...especially cheesecake and ice cream.

    Q. How has yours and Phil's relationship with each other and your kids changed since going through this amazing transformation?

    A. I feel like I am having an affair with another man...lol..Phillip looks like a totally different person! Also, the kids see a more active Mom and Dad.

    Q. Are there any other contestants that you and your husband plan on keeping in contact with?

    A. I would personally love to keep in contact with all of the contestants. It is like being a family when you have gone through this experience together. I don't know if everyone feels the same about me and Phillip but that is not my choice.

    Q. What has been your proudest moment through this competition? What's the best compliment you've gotten?

    A. The best compliment I recieved was from Jillian at th finale when she said "do you realize you weigh only 3 pounds more than me??" Who would have ever thought that was even possible when we started this journey. Proudest moment??? When I beat Phillip's percentage at the finale...Ha!

Thank you so much for doing this, you, Phil and all the other Biggest Loser contestants are a true inspiration. It's good when trying to lose weight to be able to look at you guys and see what the future could hold.
